Terms of service

Last updated 27 July 2026

These terms cover your use of Wheelscribe — the website and the iOS app. By creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

Your account

You need an account to use Wheelscribe, you must be at least 13 years old, and the details you give us must be accurate. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has got in.

Your data is yours

You keep ownership of everything you put into Wheelscribe: your vehicles, entries, photos, and receipts. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service — to store your content, back it up, and show it back to you. We do not sell it, publish it, or use it to train anything. How we handle it is set out in the privacy policy.

Plans and billing

Wheelscribe has a free plan and paid plans. Current pricing and limits:

  • Free — free, for one vehicle.
  • Enthusiast — $5/month or $50/year, for up to 5 vehicles.
  • Business — $25/month or $250/year, for unlimited vehicles.

Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your profile; you keep paid access until the end of the period you already paid for, and we do not pro-rate partial periods. If a payment fails, paid features stop and your account drops to the free plan — your data stays put. We may change prices, but not for a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before a change takes effect. Purchases are made on our website, not through the App Store, so Apple is not a party to your subscription.

Acceptable use

Use Wheelscribe for keeping vehicle records. Do not upload anything unlawful or anything you do not have the right to upload, do not try to reach other people's accounts or data, do not attack or overload the service, and do not resell it as your own. We can suspend or close an account that does these things.

Reminders are a convenience, not a safety system

Wheelscribe can remind you about upcoming service, but you must not rely on it for anything safety-critical. Notifications can be delayed, dropped, or never delivered — your phone, your network, and Apple's push service are all outside our control. Follow your manufacturer's maintenance schedule and your own judgement. Nothing in Wheelscribe is mechanical, legal, or safety advice.

Keep your own copy of anything critical

We take reasonable care of your data and back it up, but no service is immune to loss. If your records matter to you — for a sale, a warranty claim, or a dispute — keep an independent copy. Paid plans include export for exactly this reason.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Wheelscribe running but do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may retire ones that are not working. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from your profile on the web or the Profile tab in the iOS app. Deletion is permanent: it removes your login, vehicles, entries, uploaded files, and reminders, and it cannot be undone. We may close an account that breaches these terms, and will try to give notice first unless the breach is serious.

Warranties and liability

Wheelscribe is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost data beyond what the law requires us to cover. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. None of this removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Wheelscribe after a change means you accept the new terms.
